Bishop Museum...

A while back we took Dezi to the Bishop Museum to see the Dinosaur exhibit. He didn't like it one bit. They had dinosaurs set up outside on the lawn, he didn't like those. He didn't like the dinosaurs inside, bones or whole. But he did like everything else we saw. The Hawaiian, the volcano and sea animal fossil shells.

It was a fun day for me and Gil though. We learned new things and saw some interesting things. I haven't been there since a field trip I took for class in intermediate. Can you believe that! I couldn't remember anything about the Museum except for the whale that hangs in the Hawaiian section. HA!

So not sure about the dino behind him.

He kept saying "No no no no!"

FREAKED OUT....when he saw this thing.

and MAJORLY FREAKED OUT.....when this popped out from behind the bushes roaring!

He kind of had fun with this activity...you brush the rice away to uncover the fossil. But there was a dino in the corner so he making sure that it wasn't making noise or moving.

He had fun with this. Daddy and Dezi sliding down a lava tube?

I think that's what it was. After the dino exhibit we walked around to see everything else which Dezi loved. There's to many photos but he did have a great time.

Happy Birthday Dezi...

For Dezi's 2nd birthday we took him to Farrell's at Pearl Ridge. He had been there for his 1st birthday with family but of course didn't remember it. I thought it was okay. Nothing really that makes me want to go back, but since Gil missed his 1st birthday at Farrell's he wanted to go there to experience it for himself.
I thought Dezi might like the drums and noise (since he makes a lot of it at home and thinks it's funniest thing.) But no. He didn't like the noise. He didn't like the people. He didn't really like his dinner except for the fries, he most definitely did NOT like having to sit down at the table. But he did like his dessert. Oh well, what can you do for a 2 year old.
I feel like I have been blessed with a great son. He is fairly an easy child and doesn't give me to much grief (as long as I play with him and give him my full attention....He he) . But he really is good and I'm glad he's mine.

Scared of the noise while everyone was singing happy birthday!

LOVED his fries!

Loved his ice cream cone!

Dezi Kain you have grown up so fast. Too fast for mommy! I love your fun loving personality, smile, laughter and cheesy faces. You can make me laugh just by looking at me seriously and then putting that big grin on your face. You are so energetic. Sometimes more than I can handle but I have fun trying to keep up. At times you are cuddly and just want to be held and read to. And I love when you grab my face and give me kisses for no reason. You are smart and sensitive but also tough.

I have been so blessed beyond measure and can't imagine a day without you. I love you more than words can express and can't wait to see how you grow and mature. I love you so much!

Love, Mommy & Daddy

Our summer...

"Dezi, what do you want to do today?"

YM/YW Halloween Party...

This year the young men and women of our ward put on a little Halloween party for the primary kids. There was face painting, donut eating, other fun games and I think all the kids had a blast. They dressed up in costumes ready for the fun. The youth did a great job in getting things together and making sure the kids had fun. Some of them even dressed up too.

If you obviously couldn't tell from the picture, Dezi was Handy Manny, a character from the Disney channel. Okay I have to laugh because no one knew who he was. Even I didn't. I was so late this year getting into the Halloween spirit that I just put him in jean pants and gave him his tools to carry around which he didn't. He was actually afraid of all the weird looking people that night.

At least you could tell what I was. Thanks to Marj we were gypsies! Pretty hot ones if you ask me. LOL!!!

This is one of the games that the YM came up with. You get blind folded and have to stick your hand in boxes of scabs, boogers, brains, warts, and toes and guess what it is, but in the middle box, one of the YM grabs your hand from inside the box. It was pretty scary cause your not expecting it. A lot of the younger kids didn't want to finish the boxes once the hand grabbed em'.

And this is one of our YW painting a face. She is a very talented artist I found out.

Over all the night was a success and the kids enjoyed themselves.

So long Lyla...

I think maybe everyone has had their hoopty car's right? Well this was mine. I named her Lyla the day I got her. (it was my brother's car, then mine). She is a 1994 Nissan 200sx. She used to be green and I kept her pretty clean on the inside. I started driving her at the very very end of my senior year in high school. She has always been very good to me but as she got older she became less reliable: Sparks plugs always going, losing power all of sudden and thinking I'm going to roll straight down the big hill backwards, blowing a tire at the airport, and breaking down on me on the freeway a mile from my house at midnight (thanks honey and all your friends who came and got me.), ....just to name a few. That last one I listed was the last draw for Gil and when we were dating (I know how it sounds but we pretty much knew we were going to get married at that point.) he took my old car to drive to work and he bought me my brand new 2004 white Honda Accord, that I currently drive, for my birthday! I was totally in heaven cause this was my something new......NEW! And it was mine. I have always had hand me downs from my two older sisters, which I didn't mind too much because I thought they were cool. But this was the first thing that was all mine.

I absolutely love my car now and can't imagine giving it up. I have named her Rosie since the day I started driving her, hence the rose on my shifting gear. She is my baby and I still am anal about keeping her clean. Although sometimes she does get really dirty do to the fact that I have a toddler, I give her a good deep antibacterial-ized cleaning at least 2 times a month.

Goodbye Lyla...You have lived a full life! Enjoy your new owner's. Hope they can make you whole again.

To beat the heat...

As you all know this summer and fall has been super-dee-duper hot, muggy and sticky! To say the least. So to beat the heat I took Dezi to the Wet n' Wild Park a couple of times just to cool off and have some fun! He has gotten braver and slides down the little slide by himself and wants to do the big kid one all the time but needs me to go with him. When he's not sliding he's playing with the water that shoots out of the ground. I'm sooooo glad those days are gone......for now.

The Haunted Lagoon...

This year my family decided to celebrate Halloween early by going to the haunted lagoon. Yes it was extremely hot, and yes we waited in line for 2 and half hours but it was totally worth it. Workers kept asking us if we wanted to go the "Family" one (they noticed all our kids.....and babies), but we kept telling them no. Some of us were scared and others were just along for the ride.

Dezi totally freaked out the first time he saw this guy. Or should I say thing?

All the kids.

These two decided to sit in the back of the boat thinking that's where all the action would happen. Nope.....all the action happened in the front but they were still scared to death. During the whole canoe ride, my nephew Keoni (on the right), was burying his face in some ladies boob next to him with this "I want to get off this boat" look on his face. Then after the whole fact as we were all talking about it walking back to the car he says, "Ho mom, I wasn't scared but the lady next to me thought I was and she was like on top of me." It was something to that affect.

Before the ride. Dezi was totally terrified during the entire ride. He basically had his face buried in either my chest or grandmas chest or daddy's chest. Poor kid! What horrible parents huh?
They did an awesome job this year. I didn't go to last year's one but I kept hearing this year's one was better. I only hope they can top it every year cause we're doing it again.

Through the eyes of a toddler...

I tried taking pictures of Dezi one day and he totally minded so he took matters in to his own hands and this is what became of it...

His blurry finger and the bed...

the window...

One of his books and part of his foot...

And the love of his life....MOMMY!

Oh Dezi...

P.C.C. day...

So a long while back my brother and his son came down for a nice long visit from Texas. While they were here we thought it would be nice if the whole family went to the Polynesian Cultural Center, since they redid the night show. It was the best day I think we all had in a while. The kids were amazed at all the things they saw, heard and experienced and thoroughly enjoyed themselves and so did the adults. Here's a quick re-cap...

First everyone met at Papa's office at BYUH around lunch time. Above is one of the views from his office. You can see the cannon center from his window, and below is a picture of papa....and Dezi.....working hard. Or hardly working.

We ate lunch at the Seasider then headed on over to the Poly Center.

We watched the canoe show....

This is Fiji. I thought it was a cool motion pic. The kiddies REALLY enjoyed watching all the dancers on boats.

Went to a few villages....
My sister U'i volunteering to show her mad Tahitian skills. Uh, hello. Isn't it supposed to be for the tourists? LOL!!

We got some tattoo's....

Dezi not quite sure about his.

Tried out some poi balls...

He had the funnest time. I had to buy some partly because I wanted a pair and partly because he didn't want to give his up. Ok, so mostly because I wanted a pair.

And really enjoyed the new night show. This guy was the main adult character. Isn't he hot? Team who?

Before the night show we left to eat McDonald's then went back to watch the show. It was totally amazing and I would see it again and again. If you haven't seen the new show do yourself a favor and take your family it will be a night you won't forget! I will never forget this day. All our family (almost) in one place enjoying each other, catching up, laughing and watching our little ones play together. This is one I won't forget.

Oooo la la...

Tell me what could be more sexier than this...

Ta Da!

My husband doing dishes while holding our son!

Can you tell he wants something?

Ha ha!

Bye, bye my little baby...

Dezi has finally said goodbye to his best friend in the whole world....his pacifier. Only because we actually lost it but I found that it was a good opportunity to let it go. We've given him treats everytime he has been wanting it. I think I let him suck it for so long cause he's my baby. I won't have one for a little while longer and wanted him to kinda still be my baby and with the pacifier it just reminded me that he was a baby still. But he is getting to be my big boy now and I need to enjoy him at this more fun stage. SO goodbye pacifier and hello big boy!

Leaving his little mark in the world...

At least for a little while. I love footprints in the sand.

My Dezi Kain...

Is so smart now. He now knows (for a little while) how to get in and out of his crib due to the little exit on the side. He finally figured out that if he pulls on the zipper the whole door will open and he will play and have fun in his "Payos" (playhouse). That's what I called it one day.

Taylin's Birthday...

Was so long ago, but I wanted to show my love. Taylin (my niece) just turned 8 this past July.
She has been such a singing, funny, acting and loving blessing to our families life. She has so
much energy and lets it all out in the musical/theater direction. She is constantly making up moves to songs and making up songs. Fittingly she had an iCarly party. She kind of reminds me
of iCarly. She and all the kids had a blast. Here's a little recap:

Papa read to the boys and they were so in to it.

We had a fashion game. The kids (girls) broke up into teams and made an outfit out of foil. The aunties (Me, U'i, and Chalei) were the models and boy were we good. My outfit lost. Chalei's won I think. Because she had a phone, bag, earrings, bracelet and etc...

This was a fun game. They had to close their eyes and pick two m&m's and someone had to tell them if it was a match or not, if it was not a match they had to put them in their mouth until they got a match. Then hand it to the next player. The team that finished first won.

Happy belated birthday Taylin! Hope you enjoyed your celebration and baptism. We are all so proud of you and hope you will continue to be the sweet, fun loving girl you are. You are beautiful inside and out and are so glad you are a part of our family. You are my best Taylin!
