While daddy sleeps...

Going for it....

Got it...

That was fun...Yaaaay!!!

Dezi's Firsts...hands & knees...

So we put Dezi on his knees to see if he'll start to show signs of crawling. He does rev up like he's ready to go but then plops himself down on the ground (or bed in this case). As you can see we put the t.v. remote in front of him to entice him. I have to do this on the bed cause our floors are hardwood and i'm scared he'll just bang his face on the floor. Anyway he's getting the hang of being on hands and knees! I'm so excited and can't wait for those first moves!

Okay i'm reving...

I'll just plop down and reach for it.

Trip to the zoo...

Warning: This blog is very very long so if you don't have time to read just look at the pictures. After all they are worth a thousand words.

Our trip to the zoo was so much fun! It just kind of happened. I called my sisters to see what they were doing cause I wanted to get Dezi out of the house. U'i and Chalei were just gonna take their kids to the beach. Well I didn't want to drive all the way into town (seeing as how gas is so expensive now...rediculously expensive) just to go to a beach. I thought if I were to go to a beach I could go to a much closer one. Anyway I didn't really feel like going to the beach cause we've been going to beaches and my sisters pool a lot lately and was kind of tired of it (I just wanted to do something else). So I called Kapua and they were thinking about going to the zoo. I thought okay I wouldn't mind driving into town to go to the zoo (seeing as that's the only zoo in Hawaii), it's something different and i'm sure Dezi would love it! So then we all kinda said, okay to the zoo we go. So we met up at the zoo and all the kids had a blast! Dezi really liked it too. The animals he saw anyway. The flamingos were the first animals we saw when we walked in and he just stared at them. Not really impressed. Next were the elephants.

He really like the elephants. He got so excited when they came out of their little home and started walking around. They came right in front of us. Then one of the elephants started to throw dirt on it's back. At first I thought that's cool he's probably cooling himself off or playing or what ever it was then realized that the dirt flown in the air was now drifting our way. I had to hurry and turn Dezi's stroller around so he wouldn't get dirt all over his face. It was still cool though to see the animals actually doing something and not just standing there. Then there were the monkey's .

We saw Lemurs and Gibbons (a type of monkey). One of the monkey's looked like it was pregnant. She had a big hanging, swinging, belly and was walking around almost to show it off. It looked funny. Dezi didn't really pay attention to the monkey's though cause at the bottom of each monkey habitat were brightly colored Koi fish swimming around which were much more interesting to him. What can I say, My baby doesn't monkey around! Hahaha!!! LOL!! Okay totally lame joke I know.

So this is the last picture taken of Dezi awake. He then went into his stroller cause he was tired and cruised there for a while, while we looked at the turtles and the reptile cave (It has all kinds of lizards and snakes and stuff like that). Since he was tired he didn't really look at the reptiles he just kind of zoned out. Then he fell asleep and took his regular nap and didn't wake up until we got to the car. Uuuggghh! I was hoping that he would wake up in time for the keiki zoo but nope. He was just tired and I didn't want to disturb his sleep. At least he enjoyed everything that he did see although it wasn't much. That's okay we'll just have to go again with daddy when he's a little older to really appreciate it!

Okay so halfway through the zoo we stopped to have some lunch at the benches and we had a little guest with us. This peacock just roams around the zoo I guess and it kept roaming around us. It was trying to eat our food. Cody dropped some chips on the floor and it came over by us and started to eat them, then wouldn't leave Cody alone. It followed him and was waiting for him to drop another chip I guess. It was neat but kind of scary at the same time. You never know what a peacock can do when he's hungry and wants food! YIKES! He got a little to close to the kids a couple of times and scared them a little but overall he was a cool bird that just wanted attention and a full belly! Beautiful bird though.

The girls just having fun (Cody didn't want to take a picture with all the girls!). From left to right

After seeing all the animals (tigers, cheetahs, ostrich, zebras, rihnos, & giraffes...no lions...sniff sniff: I didn't want to post all the pics otherwise this blog would really really be long ) our day ended at the Keiki Zoo and the kids had a blast...

Some water turning thing

Mr. Llama want a kiss?

Keely got real comfortable with the goats and decided to hug one.

Belinha a little scared at first but warmed up a little after we played what color are the goats?

Happy Father's Day...

Happy Father's Day to all you wonderful men out there who make things a little easier for us mom's, daughters (and ladies) with all the things you do for us! Father's Day was pretty good if you ask me. This year was my first official mother's day and Gil's first official father's day so I wanted to make it special. I hung qoutes all about father's over the bed where Gil sleep's so that when he wakes up it's the first thing he sees. Then as he watched his favorite channel Dezi and I cooked daddy some breakfast in bed, nothing fancy just rice, eggs, and vienna sausage. After that we just hung out in bed and talked and played with Dezi. It was such a relaxing morning. I tended to all of Dezi's needs (as usual) and tried not to make Gil do any work (A tradition in my family which I will explain later). After Dezi and I came home from church we joined the family for a father's day lucheon at our house. Then it was off to my mom's house for father's day dinner which all the mom's cooked (and Ryan had to bar-b-que the meat but that was it). We had steaks, shrimps, fruit, potato salad (I think) and veggies. I think the men enjoyed their dinner! Then we cleaned up and everyone went home. A successful Father's Day if you ask me! Maybe i'll have Gil post a little something so he can tell everyone how it went.

Happy Father's Day Gil! I love Dezi's onsie.

(Click on the pic and you can see what it says)

One of the qoutes I hung. So true!

This was just to cute not to put in here.

(Keely 4- Aleena 4- Belinha 2- Naysa 3)

First hair cut...

My big little boy is growing up so fast! I just gave Dezi his first haircut about a week ago and he's only 7 months. I couldn't stand how his hair was hanging over his ears, how uneven his hair is growing and that little tail in the back (sorry forgot to take pictures of it). So I busted out the scissors and went to it. It was a lot more difficult than what I expected. Gil and I thought that if we (Gil) distracted him then I could cut his hair. Not the case. He kept looking at me and the scissors and kept trying to grab them, then was trying to grab the camera as Gil was taking pictures. After the whole thing was finished his hair still looked long and I cut at least an inch if not more! I didn't cut his tail though. Gil thinks it cute and cool, I don't however so I told him I would leave it a little longer then I am cutting it off! That'll be the hair we save since it is so long. Here are a few pics that aren't very good but thought I would share anyway.

Here we go!

I was nervous but excited at the same time.

Reaching for Gil...Oh nooooo!

The after.....his hair is still long!

Baby Einstein...

Dezi loves his Baby Einstein videos. He watches one everyday and can't keep his eyes off of the t.v. when his videos are in. Maybe they'll make him smart! Cause he's sure not getting his smart genes from his mother! LOL!! No seriously.

Zombie look.

Baby Neptune, all about water.

(If your wondering what that thing is on the t.v....it's Gil's paintball mask.)

Graduating class...2008...

Congratulations class of 2008! My brother-in-law Gene graduated from Mililani Highschool on June 1st and was soooo excited. He's finally done with school. The graduation was actually nice. I thought we would be in the sun but we weren't. We were in the shade at Aloha stadium, there were a lot of grads, the class song was only sung by three people...not THE CLASS ! What up with that? Anyway, it didn't take that long to wait for the stadium people to open the gates so that family & friends could congratulate the grads. Everything went very well. After everything was done and Gene got to say his congrats to his friends we all ate at Max of Manila's in Waipahu. Authentic Philipino food for 60 years! Or so the place mat said. It was good food that I like. Congratulations Gene! Now get to work!

Gene just received his diploma.

Proud parents!

He just keeps growing...

Just wanted to post a little update on Dezi. He is now 7 months and 1 week old. He just keeps growing everyday. I have recently bought him new toys and he loves them despite the fact that he doesn't know how to play with them yet. He is using a sippy cup now but doesn't know how to hold it straight to drink out of the spout (as you can see in the picture below). He can sit up now on his own (with a little assistance every now and then), and is now eating step 2 of his food. Everyday he just amazes me and reminds me that babies grow very fast. When he was new born I thought gosh he is so small and fragile, I can't imagine what he'll look like or do when is older. Now that he is older I wish he were younger again so I can have my "little itty bitty baby" back but then again I can't wait till he can walk and talk and achieve other milestones. I cherish every minute with him and never want to miss a moment. I hope you all are doing well and enjoying your families to the fullest!

My "little" big boy

He just loves his sippy cup!

His animal stacker rings and his giraffe that spits out balls when you put them inside.

He'd rather eat giraffe.

P.S. Thank you for your advice and help. It was much needed. I am actually more confident now and can say "yeah, my son can't do that yet...so what?" Not that I would say that out loud but inside i'm saying it. Anyway thanks again and I love you all!! = )

When your tired, your tired....

So U'i had a doctor appointment and asked if I could watch Kia'i. "Of course." I said. I knew it would be a little difficult because they (Kia'i and Dezi) are so close in age and both are kind of in that "clingy to mommy" stage. However they were actually pretty good with sharing mommy & aunty (ME). I had put Dezi in the jumper to occupy him while I was entertaining Kia'i on the floor. Then Kia'i started to get a little fussy so I switched them. Kia'i has only been in the jumper once before and was still kind of like "Okay so what do I do. Play with the toys or jump?" He enjoyed it and was content slightly jumping while playing with the toys. Then Dezi was getting fussy because it was his nap time. I figure Kia'i is okay in the jumper so I take Dezi to the room, lay down with him just for like a minute then think, okay if i'm going to leave Kia'i in the jumper in the living room I better lock the screen door just in case. So to my surprise when I go to the living room to lock the screen door I see his head on the sun spinner thingy. I figure he was just trying to eat one of the toys, I lock the door turn around and notice that he is SLEEPING!!! I thought it was to cute and just had to take a picture before I took him and put him in Dezi's crib. So they both took naps at the same time but it only lasted about 20 min. I contemplated just leaving him there but thought I better not. He didn't even cry or make a noise and fell asleep so fast! Isn't he just so cute though.

Totally knocked out!
