All things Dezi...

This post is obviously about and for my favorite person in the whole world. He is the light of my life, my joy, pride and happiness. He is the only other man in my life (other than Gil) who I am absolutely smitten by. He is and will always be my sweet baby boy Dezi Kain.

He is my little handy helper. He is always following me around all day talking to me and taking the dish towels off the stove to wipe them on the ground (Uuuggghhh). As soon as I get a new one he wants to wipe the floor again but this time using his feet rather than his hands.

He is very musically talented. Did you know he tried out for American Idol? They said he has the rocker look, very good looking too, sings on key but he over did the song by singing to loud. Well that's the only way he knows how. Yell in the microphone and see who laughs (grandma always does, which ecourages the yelling).

He is a multi-tasker. He can never just take his time and do one thing then move on to the next....no, no, no...he rides his bike at the same time trying to play his drum. Mind you he tried to reach his giraffe in the back and put his foot on it to rock it. This kid just goes, goes, goes. He never takes a break. What about mom?

But the best part about my little guy is that he is such the cuddler. He loves to give hugs and kisses and just holds you (well...mommy) sometimes for a while. And sometimes having our cheeks touching isn't enough. He grabs my face and really pushes his face into mine. Oh yeah it hurts but he does it all for the love, and I can't resist. My little boy is the best!

Dezi I love you so much! I have had a blast watching you grow and learn and discover new things everyday. It has been such an adventure and I can't wait to see what the future will hold and how your gonna be when you get older. You will always be my bubby and I will love you forever!

Love, Mommy

Catching up...

I have been way behind on my posts however this is my attempt to catch up on all the festive activities that have happened. I didn't realize that when you post pictures they just stack up on top of each other so this post will be backwards since...let's just face it, i'm lazy and don't want to switch them around.

First up.....New Year's Eve

I hope everyone had a great New Year's Eve and Day for that matter. This year was the first year in a while that I actually got join in on the fun. Gil and I split this holiday with our families every year. Dinner and hanging out with my family, then the fireworks with his family since they live in a cul-de-sac and pretty much go all out every year. I know it's not fair for my family cause I'm never there when they "Ching" in the new year but next year hopefully we'll switch. Anyway, it was exciting cause we had pretty good fireworks. The pics below aren't our fireworks but they were pretty much the same. I know it's not good (i'm not going to say the "i" word cause I just can't) but it was so exciting and fun.

We had these...

...and the one on the left. It was my favorite. It looked like glitter falling from the sky!

Me and Gil actually enjoying the New Year TOGETHER!

Next is Christmas...
This year we went as a family to see the Honolulu City Lights. It was the same thing as any year and personally I didn't like the wreaths this year. But we decided to go anyway and show Dezi all the lights and trees and he really enjoyed it. All he wanted to do was walk around and look AND TOUCH everything.

Christmas this year was at my sister U'i's house in Kaneohe. She has a new house and it's acutally big enough to fit all my family with room to spare. We all had a blast opening our presents and the kiddies did too! We do secret santa every year and have a limit but this year was the first year we did it with the kids since there are 15 of them. Each child picked a name and that's who they bought for. We all decided (the parents...since we were the ones buying the presents) that what ever you buy just make sure you can fit it in two boxes so there are no complaints about "She has more presents than me! HUMPH!!!" And it worked! Yea!

Gil wasn't able to join us cause he was sick but I gave him his presents and he loved them.
Good job U'i. You have the Filipino taste!

Dezi absolutely loves this train he got from Aunty Chalei. Or should I say Krysta, Cody, Keely or Kai.

Last but not least...Dezi's first hair cut!
Sniff sniff!

For those of you who see Dezi often you know how his hair was. Wild, crazy, everywhere, always in his eyes and frizzy. Well after much talk from family we finally cut his hair. It wasn't that I didn't want to but I was lazy to make an appointment and somehow I think I knew I would be sad. I was right. As soon as the lady finished I just looked at him and thought "Where's my baby, I want him back!....NOW!!!" But in the end I'm glad we did it and he is much happier I think. He's not rubbing his hair out of his eyes and people can now recognize that he is a HE!
She even saved hair in a baggie for us. Pigtails and Crew Cuts in the Moanalua Shopping Center. They are of course for kids and I think cheaper than other kid places. It was only $19 compared to a trim at Kiddy Cuts for $30.

New Years Resolutions....

Okay so this year kinda went by fast for me. Dezi has just grown up so fast and is now 14 months old. To think at the beginning of '08 he was just a tiny infant and is now running all over place that I can hardly keep up. He keeps me on my toes and is the magority of the reason that life has just raced by. I hardly paid attention to anything else. I'm getting older......I actually couldn't remember how old I was a couple of days ago when I was filling out a get to know you survey. How sad is that. Anyway, because things just ran right passed me this year my New Year Resolutions are:

1. Take the time to enjoy every moment and to not be in a rush for things to happen.

2. Not to let little things get to me.

3. Be more....
a. Active in the church (i.e. with my calling, and just showing up on time).
b. Friendly.
c. Better at reading the B.O.M. and other good books.
d. Outgoing.
e. Service oriented.
f. Faithful.
g. Active physically.
h. Helpful and dependable.

4. Be a better wife (just being there for him and trying to be more understanding and supportive).

5. Be a better mom, sister, daughter & friend. No matter what it entails.

6. And to not be afraid of doing the things I want to do or making up excuses to not do them.

We'll see how I actually do this year and hope that what ever resolutions you make, you will be able to accomplish them too!

CHEERS!
