Mother in need...

Mommy's out there I really need your help. I've been feeling kind of down lately and really contemplating on what to do. I love my son very much and want the best for him and hope that I am doing all I can do to help him grow and develop as he should. I know that babies develop on there own terms, granted you (we as mothers) help them to achieve what ever goal it is at that time whether it's grabbing something with their hands or sitting or crawling. However as I have been talking to random mother's (family, friends and others) I feel as if Dezi is not where he should be developmently in a physical sense. He just made 7 months old a couple of days ago. He can roll from his back to stomach (very rarely but he can. I think it's because he doesn't like being on his stomach), from stomach to back (in like a split second), hold himself up on his arms when he's on his stomach and is kind of getting how to sit on his own. He still falls and can only sit on his own for a couple of seconds. Mom's that I have been talking to have commented on why he isn't doing certain things and the sound of their voice makes me feel concerned because they feel concerned for him. Recently I have been pushing him really hard to do certain things because to other mother's he's behind ("my son/daughter was doing that already by his age, why is he not doing it?"). I know I shouldn't care what other mom's think and I have talked to Dezi's doctor about it. He said Dezi is just fine and to ignore the comments, however, it is hard. I guess I just feel as if i'm failing as a mother. That i'm not doing all that I can do to help him. If you have any "words of wisdom" or comments on how to help him or me please click on the comment link below and leave your advice. I would really appreciate it! And i'm sure Dezi would too! Thanks!

LOVE, Keli

It was such a beautiful day!

Memorial Day...

Happy Memorial Day everyone! My family had a blast. We first planned to go to Ko Olina and swim at the coves since there are no waves there. We knew we needed to go early for parking. My sister-in-law Eva got there first at 7:30 in the morning. She got in but there was no parking. Then the rest of my family got there at about quarter to 8 and they were not letting anyone in because the parking was all full. We didn't want to pay for parking so we decided to go to Kahana Bay where my grandmother lives and we had more fun than we would've had at Ko Olina. It was such a beautiful day! All the family and some friends came out and we just enjoyed every minute of it. The kids went boogie boarding, swimming, made sand castles and chased each other trying to throw sand balls at each other. The adults enjoyed swimming, laying on the beach, and going out with the jet ski. My cousin has a jet a ski and sometimes we get to ride it. Thanks Kimo! Anyway had good food and fun! Enjoy the pictures and i'll post more later!

Me and you Kristy! Rock on whities!! LOL!

The Dezer...

Just recently Dezi and I were at my mom's house and out of nowhere he rolled over for the very first time from his back to his stomach which he hates. He has only done it maybe a few times after that but he generally doesn't like to be on his stomach. Whenever we do his tummy time he turns over in like 1 sec. His doctor says that maybe he will skip the whole crawling thing and go straight to pulling himself up on things and walking along. Or he will only crawl for a little while. I can totally see that cause all he wants to do is stand and jump. Also as you can tell from the pics below he is in love with himself (conceided or what...LOL! Just kidding) Everytime he see's a mirror he looks and then smiles at himself. He was trying to give himself kisses. Aaaaawwww!

Okay...for the pics below read the second pictures caption first.

....Oh it's me! Muah! Muah! Muah!!

His thoughts..."Who's that handsome little boy?"....

Oh my gosh look at them now. They are finally back for good and we love having them back home. Us sisters are close so it's nice to have us ALL here.

Just hangin'

My sister U'i came over to my house a week ago to hang out and these two boys were to funny! They were playing with their own toys, then looking at each other, then touching (baby hitting) each other in the face, then playing with their own toys again all the while playing leg war.

Who's gonna win?

Oh...Kia'i boy! "No fair your too big!" says Dezi Kain.

Mother's Day #3 / Goodbye Au's

On Saturday March 10 my family on my mom's side got together for breakfast to celebrate mother's day and also Kalani and Li'i's moving to Utah. We had eggs, bacon, sausage, fried rice, potatoes, fruit, it was a smorgas board of yummy food. Good company too. The only thing that was missing was Kalani and Li'i. They came after everyone left. We had fun anyway but would have had more fun if they were there. That's okay it's not the last time we'll see them.

Chase took it away then tried to give it back.

Don't worry, the can isn't open.

Overdue visit...

Gil's cousin Mark and his family came up for a vacation this past week. They are currently living in Seattle Washington and missing home. It was so nice to see them! Alena came in a week earlier and spent time with her family then Mark came in on this past Thursday and we got to spend some good time with them. As you can see on Friday night the family got together to play cards (a Saturday night tradition in the family) and Tiare was already to go. She showed me her nail polished toes that mommy did and her and I almost had the same color I think. We had fun playing blocks and the little ones slid down grandma's cushion on the couch! Saturday we got together again and they played cards again. Since the young mommy's don't play we just sit and talk about our little ones and catch up with each other. It's our little mommy group. Mark and Alena it was great to see you guys! You need to move home soon so our little kiddies can grow up together! Take care and can't wait to see you next time!

Mother's Day #2

So mother's day at my in-laws went like this...Everyone came over to our house (aunties, uncles, cousins and all the cousins babies which from the pic below you can tell there aren't that many) for a mother's day lucheon which by the way the mother's had to cook. I had talked to my mother-in-law the night before and she explained to me that in the Philipines they don't have mother's day or father's day so even though it's nice to celebrate and be recognized, it's not really a BIG deal. Very interesting. I'm going to have to try to change that a little. Anyway, Gil's cousin Mark and his family came down from Lynnwood Washington to celebrate with us (they were here on vaca) and it was so nice seeing them and their little girl Tiare. She is now 3 years old and I still remeber what she looked like when she was 1. My how time flies by. We had a big delicious feast. Fried salmon covered in furikake, rice, spaghetti, garlic chicken, hot dog wrapped in bacon, garlic bread, some fried pork thingy (Filipino dish-I forget what it's called), and lots of desserts that I didn't eat cause I was so full. We probably had more that I can't think of. After eating the cousins got together and played the Wii, then it was outside to the park next door to our house for some fun sliding down the little hill. The kids enjoyed it but I don't think as much as my mother-in-law. She REALLY had fun!!

what are they playing?

Mariokart..Wii.....

Just for laughs...

Mother's Day #1

Happy Mother's Day to all you Mommy's, aunties and grandma's. I had a good mother's day. It started with Gil getting Dezi ready for church, changing his poopie diaper, and putting him down for his morning nap. I went to church that morning at 11am but left early (after sunday school) to go back home and have a mothers day lunch (which will be my next post). We then went to my mother's house for Mothers Day dinner. We have a tradition in our family. The men do all the cooking and taking care of the kiddies that day and the mommy's can't be bothered with ANYTHING! My brother-in-law cooked ribs and chicken. We also had sauteed shrimp, cocktail shrimp, green salad (which Gil made...good job honey), rice, fruit salad and desserts. Yummy yummy!! It was so nice. We talked story and just had a great time. A nice surprise was that my Tutu Au and cousins Kalani and Li'i were able to come! Fun times!

Kisses for Kia'i Boy!

We're ready for church!

Happy Boys Day...

To all the guys out there Happy Boys Day!!! I didn't know until my mother-in-law showed me what she bought for Dezi. A Japanese hat, some japanese snacks that were okay tasting (Dezi can't eat any of it of course so Gil and I ate them), and a pinwheel with fish on them. We put the hat on Dezi and he looked so cute. He was okay with it at first but after the first minute he was over it.
