ok...

so I've seen this tag on several blogs, and I have even left memories for some people, so I figure its my turn:

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.ok then. start!

Ward camp....

I don't think some of you will care about this one. It's more for my family I guess. So my sister and her two kids camped with us for 2 nights and 3 three days. For the short time she was to be with us she packed 5 panties for my niece Belinha who has been potty trained for a while now. Well I don't know what happened, I guess she was just having so much fun! Anyway, she had managed to pee in all her panties by the second day. The camp kind of went like this all day for 2 days...."Mommy I have to make she she!" - "Okay come on let's go." You bust out the little portapotty and.......yay she goes in the toilet! Or so we thought. As we put on her panties and shorts we notice they're wet. "Belinha you need to tell us when you have to go and not wait! Uuuggghhh!" "Do not hold it in till the last minute!" - "Okay mommy (aunty)." The next time she'll be holding her thing and jumping and walking around in circles. "Belinha, do you need to go potty?"- "I need to go potty!" What happens......?........ you guessed it, she pees in her pants again. So that pretty much was what we were doing for 2 days (technically 3 days). Oh just to share a little something. As we were relaxing by our little tent just talking, Bela went to sit on U'i's lap. Suddenly, I get the tired rolled eyes from U'i. As she stands up her pants in the middle are all wet. Bela had sat on mommy just to pee! **LOL** Sorry U'i but it is funny now I think of it.

Okay so here's the story you've all been waiting for. On Thursday night we were sound asleep in our tent. All of a sudden....CRASH, well more like crash. I wake up and find the pole to our E-Z up tent is like 2-3 feet from crushing my son (total exageration). But the pole was leaning in to our tent. I got up and tried to hold the pole from leaning further in cause I was scared that it might make our tent fall. This is how it went. By the way we were whispering cause the kids actually didn't hear a thing and were still sleeping. "U'i wake up, I need help. I think our tent fell!" As U'i is getting up and putting on a jacket, I look out the window and notice that I can see the sky. At this point i'm thinking....why can I see the sky, gasp, where's the tent i'm holding on to the pole? At this point Dezi has waken up and I have to carry him. I nervously let go of the pole and walk outside to find that the E-Z up had blown over, turned inside out and landed on our tent. It looked like a big spider had just landed right on top of our tent. GASP...."Oh my gosh, U'i the tent is broken! What do I do! I...I...I have to get help!" Keep in mind this is now about 4 in the a.m. U'i comes outside and says, "Ooohhh my gooosh!" Again I say,"I have to get help. Should I ask Matt and Kelly?" So, reluctantly I walk over to the Bishops tent (awesome family by the way..Love you guys!), wake them up and ask for their help. "Maatt, Kelly, I need your help!" They come over, and Kelly says "Oh my gosh, oh my gosh!" (that saying seems to be the theme here). Thank goodness that we were able to get the thing off our tent and all folded up. In the process U'i's son Kia'i has now woken up. We get back into our tent (after our little potty run) and the kids are totally awake and talking and playing and now Belinha has woken up and is asking "what happened to the tent?" U'i and I can do nothing but laugh and let the kids tire themselves out again. This pic. was taken at about 5 a.m. I'm sorry I didn't take a picture of the thing on top but I was carrying my son and it was 4 in the a.m. You'll just have to imagine it.

The tarp to our E-Z up.

You can see one broken pole out of 10.

Dezi saying, "What! So our tent broke. So what? Piece of crap tent."

Mililani 1st Ward Camp @ Bellows...

This post is a little different. I have little captions or stories under each picture to tell about the Ward Camp. And since there are so many pics and stories to tell there will be more posts coming up.

My ward's camp was last week from Tuesday to Saturday. This is U'i cooking our dinner for Wednesday night. We had steak and rice and salad. However I didn't eat the steak cause it was to raw for my liking. Didn't know really how long to cook food on a little burnner. I'm sure it was good though. I actually went to bed without eating anything but a few cookies that night. We were ametuer campers. As you can see we had an E-Z up tent (story to follow in the next post) for our shade and protection while everyone else, and I mean EVERYONE else had their E-Z corners, except for one other family. There were about 20 families altogether. We didn't have bins either to seal and put away our food, so every night we had to bring all the food and cleaning stuff in our tent so the cats couldn't get to it.

Me and Dezi showing off our little set up that we were so proud of having! For a little while at least. You'll see what I mean later.

*Laughing out loud to myself right now*

Gil and I playing blongo ball. Our friends the Bishops, who were camping next to us, had this game. It looks simple but it's really fun. The orange ladder is 1 point, the yellow 2 points and the green is 3 points. Each player has 3 ropes with golf balls at each end. You throw the string to land on a ladder and add up points. The first to 21 without going over wins. You can knock down the others players balls to minus points if you want. In this case Gil won but I want a rematch.

The kids and I just hanging out waiting for dinner! It was a long day.

Update on the Dezer...

So this post is not going to have any pictures. I just wanted to update you all on how Dezi and our family is doing. Dezi is now 8 months old and has a funny happy personality. He is really such a happy baby and enjoys just about everything. He still enjoys his jumperoo and laughs and smiles every time he's in it. He loves to eat his food and I can't feed him fast enough (if he's not overly hungry where he just wants his bottle). I'm currently trying to change his schedule and feed him three meals a day with a morning and night bottle just to satisfy. He loves watching his einstein movies still and loves going out on errands or being with the family where ever we go. He is so talkative right now, always babbling about something. However he can be shy and be totally silent if he doesn't know people. He laughs at almost anything Gil and I do. He can sit up by himself now and is scooching backward so i'm hoping he'll start crawling soon. His 2 bottom teeth are fully out and his 2 top teeth are coming. They just broke through his gums so now when he bites, which is also a new thing, it really hurts! His first word was dada! I was more excited than Gil I think. He just kept saying it one day so now when ever he does say it I point to Gil and repeat the word too. He makes all kinds of funny faces and smiles at me right after he makes them...almost as to say "Wasn't that funny?" I laugh then he does the same. I LOVE being at home with him to see all this happen. Gil and I are doing fine. He takes trips every now and then to Maui to go to some races with friends haven't been there yet but Gil said we are going to go as a family next time. He is still working hard (the new target) and bowls for a league when others can't make it. His mom, dad, brother and cousin bowl every monday and Gil is the sub. He's still into games and plays them whenever he can. I have a calling in the church as the Young Women Secretary so that keeps me busy in between family life. I just taught my first lesson this past Sunday and I think it went okay. I didn't really say all my notes I had on the side cause nerves got the best of me. Anyway it was a good experience to have. And they were so sweet telling me I did a good a job. Well that's all I have for now. I'll post more of the family and Dezi as things happen! Gosh I didn't think this blog would be that long. I guess we have some what of an interesting life after all!! :0)

Happy Birthday America! For the 4th of July holiday Gil and I basically just cruised at home for most of the day. I think I just needed to relax from all the running around and going to the pool and beach all that week. At night we decided to go bowling with my sister and her family at Hickam then watch the fireworks. Well they were closed so my brother-in-law called Schofield and they were totally open, no one hardly bowling, however there was no parking at all because of the Billy Ray Cyrus concert. That's what the worker at the bowling place said. So then they didn't really wanna go but went to Kapolei instead. Well Gil and I thought let's just see if can find parking, if not it's no big deal. Everything fell into place after. We made our own parking (we joined the band wagon of other people who did the same) then went bowling. NO one hardly so we got lanes pretty quick. Then we ate dinner. As we were leaving it started to rain so we sat in the car. We waited just about 8 min. or so when the fireworks started and the rain stopped right then. We got out and watched some fireworks then went home and slept! Whew...what a day.

Mommy and Dezi waiting for the show to begin!

So pretty...I LOVE fireworks!

This is our outfit that we were supposed to wear for the holiday but I forgot I bought it for him so this pic. is at my sister's house for sunday dinner. Better late than never.

Two weeks ago we our Nuhi/Au Family reunion. It started out on Thursday however I didn't come till Friday. I attended a Ching Ming (?) That's when you go to a grave site and pour liquor and tea on the ground and place food for your ancesters who have passed on. Then on saturday my family went to Kahana Beach again and just relaxed and had fun till dinner time. We had good hawaiian food, polynesian entertainment, and singing all night long!

Family pictures...

I love these moments captured in time. We were just looking at the ocean and the waves that were crashing and the water washing up on shore.

All 14 grandchildren (and one more on the way). What a posterity!

Wise Women...

Here are more helpful hints and tips for you:

For a cool brownie treat, make brownies as directed. Melt Andes mints in double broiler and pour over warm brownies. Let set for a wonderful minty frosting. Add garlic immediately to a recipe if you want a light taste of garlic and at the end of the recipe if your want a stronger taste of garlic. Leftover snickers bars from Halloween make a delicious dessert. Simple chop them up with the food chopper. Peel, core and slice a few apples. Place them in a baking dish and sprinkle the chopped candy bars over the apples. Bake at 350 for 15 minutes!!! Serve alone or with vanilla ice cream. Yum!

Easy Deviled EggsPut cooked egg yolks in a zip lock bag. Seal, mash till they are all broken up. Add remainder of ingredients, reseal, keep mashing it up mixing thoroughly, cut the tip of the baggy, squeeze mixture into egg. Just throw bag away when done easy clean up.

Helpful tip to remove wallpaper: peel off the waterproof outer layer, leaving behind paper and adhesive stuck to the wall. To remove it easily mix half part water and half part white vinegar and sponge it over the wall surface. Within seconds, the adhesive starts to dissolve and you can literally peel off and wipe the wall free of the remaining wall paper. this hads been tested.

Reduce every 1 pound of hamburger called for in most recipes (like spaghetti, Hamburger Helper, etc.) to 1/2 pound. There is plenty of meat. When you come home from the grocery store, just cut the 1 pound in half, wrap well in foil, and put it in the freezer until you are ready for it. Of course, you don't want to do this with recipes like meatloaf, etc. where you need the bulk.
